How to Attach an RFID Textile Label to Clothing
RFID textile labels are designed for flexible installation methods depending on the garment type, material, and usage environment (retail, industrial laundry, workwear, etc.).
Below are the four most common attachment methods, with detailed explanations.
1. Sewing (Most Common Method)
The textile RFID label has sewing margins on both sides. It is usually sewn:
- inside the side seam
- along the care label
- behind the brand label
- at the bottom hem
- inside a pocket seam

Sewing techniques
- Single-line stitching (for thin garments)
- Double-line stitching (for uniforms or heavy fabrics)
- Overlock (for knitted garments)
This is the most widely used method in fashion & apparel RFID projects (Decathlon, Uniqlo, etc.).
2. Insertion into a Pocket / Tunnel
Insert the RFID textile label inside the small hidden pocket
Stitch the pocket closed, label becomes completely invisible and well-protected
